Acupuncture Physiatrics

Acupuncture Physiatrics is an integrative style of blending traditional acupuncture with musculoskeletal approaches for alleviation of acute and chronic pain patterns. This method of treatment using needles can also be used to treat many other health conditions.

Acupuncture Physiatrics incorporates some of the theories, from various styles of acupuncture including China, Japan and Europe. Some other principles it draws from are osteopathy, physiotherapy and myofascial release of soft tissue.

This unique style of treatment focuses on achieving release of long time holding patterns in the muscles or tissues, by impacting where they are manifesting on the body surface. Trigger points are identified by various methods including palpation through an analysis or consultation.

Long time emotional (stress) or physical holding patterns that may be attributing to pain or other negative health symptoms can often be relieved in a few treatments with this method.

Acupuncture Physiatrics is considered a modern multidisciplinary approach to healing.
