Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient form of medicine that originated in China more than 2000 years ago. It is now being widely used in many countries around the world. Acupuncture became popular in the United States in the early 70’s and is used to treat many different health syndromes.  In Canada today, many of us are beginning to see the health benefits that acupuncture treatments can provide us.

Acupuncture treatments are based on the premise that, by inserting fine sterile needles into specific acupoints, changes will occur in the body’s energy flow. Certain acupuncture points are chosen that relate to correction of specific symptoms, conditions or weakness in a person’s body.

By making energy changes along the various channels in the body, blockages in energy can be cleared and circulation restored to the under active tissues causing the problems. The Chinese call this movement of vital energy “Qi” and they have a saying, “Where Qi goes blood follows”. Promoting a proper the flow of Qi energy in the body can help to balance Yin /Yang and bring a better balance to the body mind and spirit.
