Cosmetic Acupuncture (Facelift), is a safe, natural method of preventing or, undoing many of the signs of aging. What is Cellulite?

Cellulite is the lumpy irregular fatty deposits that can appear as dimpled skin or nodules on the body. Cellulite mostly appears on women and primarily in the areas of the hips, buttocks, thighs and occasionally the stomach arms or tummy. Cellulite starts in the deeper layers of your skin tissues and therefore topical creams cannot effectively deal with the problem at its source. 

From a Chinese medicine standpoint cellulite formation is usually due to excess mucus or phlegm production in the body as a result of a weak spleen. Sometimes this can be caused by diet and lifestyle habits and it may also have a genetic predisposition. The liver meridian is also involved with relation to cellulite as it has a roll in cleansing the blood and helping to circulate it through the body. The key problem areas where cellulite forms typically become congested with phlegm/mucus hampering proper circulation and nourishment to these areas. In the absence of proper circulation of blood and oxygen the connective tissue that should hold the fat under the surface further weakens causing the fat to slip through in spots, leaving a bumpy textured appearance on the skins surface. You do not have to be overweight to suffer from cellulite.
