WHAT IS JMT?

JMT is an abbreviation for Jaffe-Mellor Technique, which is a Bio-energetic method of treating to improve the health of the body. This method was developed from the successful result of years of intensive clinical research. Its founders are Carolyn Jaffe, Doctor of Acupuncture and Ph.D. candidate in Naturopathy, and Judith Mellor, RN, Ph.D. candidate in Nutrition and certified Chinese medical herbalist. Their research began with the hope of finding a better, more permanent way of resolving the pain and progression of arthritis. Their purpose was to find a more natural non invasive way to treat their patients without exposing them  to steroids and other immune suppressing drugs, or subjecting them to traumatic joint replacement surgery. JMT can specifically treat for allergy elimination as well as many other conditions such as auto-immune disorders and more. Some disorders that have been helped include, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, crohn's, irritable bowel syndrome, multiple sclerosis, inflammatory disorders,  endocrine disorders, skin conditions, migraines, neurological disorders, pain syndromes and more.

WHAT IS A JMT TREATMENT LIKE?

After completing a preliminary consultation and answering questions relative to your condition or symptoms, the JMT practitioner will have you lie down on your back and extend your dominant arm up into the air. They will have you hold a small glass vial in your hand while applying light pressure against your raised arm. The energy vial that you hold may contain an energy substance that causes a weakness in your body. This could be a very big part of why you have unhealthy bones and joints, muscles or other affected tissues or symptoms. Once; the Certified JMT Practitioner has completed evaluation of your condition, they will gently tap along your spine while you hold the vial. The JMT Practitioner may then apply acupuncture or acupressure to balance the energy throughout the body. The initial visit usually runs one hour or longer, follow-up visits usually take less time. Advanced JMT may vary a little from the method described above in that it works with protocols. These protocols are used to question the brain along with muscle resistance testing to identify and correct energy blockages in the body. Less pain, better balance and health can be achieved through a course of JMT treatments.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

JMT works by making adjustments or corrections through the autonomic nervous system (ANS). This is done through muscle resistance testing and by identifying what things are causing a disturbance. The ANS regulates overall functioning of the entire body. Many  alterations can occur in our ANS causing it to send out the wrong messages repeatedly. This can impact our health in negative ways causing many uncomfortable symptoms or health problems. When the ANS is  failing to function optimally the immune system may be operating without proper regulation. This may render it vulnerable to problems with allergies or auto-immune diseases, and more. A faulty ANS may also be the underlying reason for digestive problems, circulatory problems, pain syndromes, emotional problems, weight problems, neurological problems and countless other health conditions.  Dr. Jaffe and Judy Mellor compare the ANS to the analogy of a computer. Like a computer their is always potential for viruses, glitches, and breakdown from over and under use, abuse and many other things that can lead to faulty performance. JMT is a treatment method of identifying and correcting the functional performance of the ANS to make corrections to the other affected systems that may not be functioning optimally. Correcting the function of the ANS should bring better balance to your body, mind and spirit.
